In March 2025, the working group formed in the fall of 2024 submitted its report to Minister of Justice G\u00e9rald Darmanin.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main proposals is the creation of a separate code of arbitration, distinct from the Code of Civil Procedure, with the aim of clarifying a set of rules that are currently scattered across several texts and increasing the international visibility of Paris as an arbitration center.<\/p>\n<p>The draft is currently subject to criticism and proposals. Arbitration professionals have been invited to contribute.<\/p>\n<p>On April 8, 2025, the Minister of Justice announced that the reform would be carried out in three stages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regulatory adjustments to clarify and modernize the existing framework.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive consultation with lawyers, courts, and academics.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of an arbitration code in the fall of 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"chrome-extension:\/\/efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj\/https:\/www.justice.gouv.fr\/sites\/default\/files\/2025-03\/rapport_2025_arbitrage.pdf\">Report and reform proposals of March 2025 from the working group on the reform of French arbitration law Co-chaired by Fran\u00e7ois Ancel and Thomas Clay<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The French legal framework for arbitration law is set to change.
