Victor CHOULIKA

Associate

A member of the Paris Bar, Victor Choulika specialises in international arbitration, commercial litigation and public international law.  He acts as counsel and administrative secretary in commercial and investment arbitrations (ICC, ICSID, CCJA, LCIA, PCA) and in arbitration-related court proceedings.  He also advises States and international organisations on matters of territorial and maritime delimitation, the law of treaties, State responsibility, and State immunity.

Victor is involved in matters across a range of sectors, including aerospace, biotechnology, distribution, infrastructure, and mining.

Before joining Teynier Pic, Victor practised for several years in a business law firm in Paris.

  • Counsel to an African State-owned entity in a USD 400 million ICC arbitration concerning the construction, operation and maintenance of a desalination plant in North Africa
  • Counsel to a leading international airline in a USD 100 million DIFC-LCIA arbitration arising from the performance and termination of an engine maintenance agreement
  • Counsel to a leading French cosmetics company in a USD 12 million ICC arbitration with its Singaporean distributor following the termination of a distribution agreement
  • Counsel to a biotech company in an ICC arbitration with its Chinese distributor arising from the termination of a distribution contract
  • Counsel to French construction companies in a CFA 50 billion CCJA arbitration against an African State concerning the termination of a construction project in West Africa
  • Counsel to two Portuguese renewable energy companies in annulment proceedings before the Paris Court of Appeal and the French Cour de Cassation
  • Counsel to an African State entity in enforcement proceedings involving conservatory seizures before the Paris Court of Appeal
  • Administrative secretary to a sole arbitrator in a DIAC arbitration between two UAE companies concerning the non-performance of a settlement agreement under UAE law
  • Administrative secretary to a sole arbitrator in an ICC arbitration between an Austrian company and a German bank concerning first demand guarantees under French law and URDG 758
