Admitted to both the Paris and New York bars, Yann Dehaudt-Delville has over a decade of experience advising French and foreign companies, investors, States and State-owned entities in international arbitration and litigation proceedings.
Yann acts in commercial and investment arbitrations conducted under the aegis of institutions, such as the ICC, LCIA, DIAC and ICSID, as well as in ad hoc proceedings. He also has extensive experience in court proceedings relating to the recognition, enforcement and setting aside of arbitral awards and foreign court judgements. He is also well versed in cross-border commercial disputes before domestic courts.
His sectoral expertise spans a wide range of industries, including energy, construction, telecommunications, aeronautics and aerospace, logistics, distribution, banking, pharmaceuticals and hospitality
Since joining the firm as Counsel in 2022, Yann has led several strategic matters involving prominent public and private sector actors.
Notably, over the past two years, Yann represented a leading European aerospace manufacturer in an ICC arbitration seated in New York, concerning a low-Earth orbit satellite constellation project. He also advised a Lebanese group, the leading toy and games retailer in the Levant, in a DIAC arbitration seated in Dubai against its Qatari sub-franchisee. In another matter, he defended a consortium of Spanish and Italian companies in proceedings relating to the enforcement of first demand guarantees arising from a major infrastructure project in Kuwait that had given rise to an ICSID arbitration.
He is currently advising a European State in the annulment proceedings of an ICC award related to the privatisation of its oil sector and a major international organisation in the recognition and enforcement in France of a foreign court judgment. Finally, he represents a major bank in multiple judicial proceedings in connection to the Lebanese financial crisis.
Alongside his counsel practice, Yann sits as an arbitrator and has served as sole arbitrator in several ICC matters.
Prior to joining Teynier Pic, Yann was a member of the international arbitration teams of Freshfields and Dechert in Paris and practiced at Le 16 Law, also in Paris.
Eric Teynier, Partner and co-founder of Teynier Pic, stated: “Yann is a talented lawyer, at the crossroads of civil law and international law, with a strong foundation in reasoning in common law. His experience as counsel in arbitration and litigation proceedings, and now also as an arbitrator, equips him with the full range of capabilities required to handle the challenges of international disputes. His appointment reinforces our firm’s growth momentum and the robustness of our boutique, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. With Yann, we reach a new milestone: he becomes the sixth partner of Teynier Pic, which now comprises around twenty lawyers. This critical mass enables us to position ourselves among the leading specialist teams in arbitration and international dispute resolution in the French market.”
Danny Rifaat, Partner, added: “We are delighted to welcome Yann to the partnership. In addition to his outstanding technical abilities, he fully embodies the values of our firm: team spirit, pride in a job well done, kindness and respect. He is open-minded, respectful and pleasant. It is particularly stimulating to work with him. His promotion also underlines our firm’s deep commitment to investing in our people and supporting the growth of those who share our vision.”
