A member of the Paris Bar, Gonzague d’Aubigny has nearly ten years’ experience practicing international commercial litigation.
He handles disputes relating to industrial risks, international contracts and shareholder disputes, from pre-litigation negotiations through to court proceedings.
He has also developed strong expertise in mediation.
Since joining the firm in 2022, Gonzague has acted for industrial companies and investors in complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes involving parallel proceedings before different courts and/or countries. More specifically, he has developed significant expertise in the construction, retail and tech sectors.
He recently represented a Gulf-based investor in a high-profile dispute concerning one of the most prominent real estate projects in the Paris market, involving multiple proceedings before the French civil and criminal courts and the coordination of both judicial and arbitral proceedings, including enforcement proceedings in several jurisdictions.
He also recently acted for Qatari and Chinese investors in two separate disputes with French shareholders. These two disputes, worth around one hundred million dollars, gave rise to proceedings before multiple courts in France and abroad, as well as negotiations and mediation procedures.
Prior to joining Teynier Pic in 2022, Gonzague spent seven years in the Litigation, White-Collar Crime and Arbitration team in the Paris office of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.
Pierre Pic, Partner and co-founder of Teynier Pic, comments: “We have had the pleasure of working with Gonzague for over two years on many of the most prominent commercial disputes in Paris. His promotion to Counsel is the natural progression for a lawyer of Gonzague’s academic and professional excellence, and a testament to the strength of our international commercial litigation practice which has benefitted and grown immeasurably since Gonzague’s arrival. Just a few short months after celebrating the 20th anniversary of the founding of our ‘boutique’ firm, we are more committed than ever to providing our clients with a dynamic and harmonious offering across our two complementary areas of expertise – commercial litigation and international arbitration – and to securing our long-term future, at the heart of which lie our true team spirit, and our commitment to developing our promising talents.”
Danny Rifaat, Partner, adds: “Beyond Gonzague’s robust talents in resolving complex multi-jurisdictional disputes and his strong personal qualities, his appointment as Counsel strengthens our firm’s positioning in high-flying commercial disputes, particularly in the Gulf and the Middle East. Since our concurrent arrivals at the firm in 2022, our involvement in resolving high-profile disputes involving major economic players in the Arab world has grown significantly, making Teynier Pic one of the most sought-after firms for corporate and commercial disputes, with a true nexus in the region. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Gonzague and to supporting him in the development of his exemplary career.”
